The 1:8 DVI Distribution Amplifier is the very best solution for any individual who needs to send one source of digital high definition video to a couple of displays on the same time. It supports all DVI equipment, such as computers, HD-DVD players and satellite set top boxes and all DVI displays. In operation, the digital video source is attached to the distribution amplifier on one side. At the other side, eight video outputs are to be had to be used in part or in full. Once the unit is attached and powered, your video source is routed to as much as eight digital displays on the same time.
For home theater applications, the unit is HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection) compliant, making it effective to be used with all HDTV displays. HDCP is a typical “key” encoded into the DVI signal to stop video data from being pirated. HDCP used to be strongly endorsed by the entertainment industry. If a source device is HDCP coded and is attached to a HDTV display or projector by the use of DVI without the correct HDCP decoding mechanism, the image is relegated to “snow” or in some cases, a very low (480P) resolution. In an effort to see secure content, the source, the display and any device in between will have to be equipped with DVI connections that may enable HDCP the use of “software key” decoding.
How it really works: Simply connect your DVI video source to the 1:8 DVI Distribution Amplifier’s input the use of the supplied DVI cable. Then connect as much as eight DVI displays to the unit’s eight DVI outputs. Once connected and powered, your video source shall be seen on all eight displays on the same time.
Note: All connected displays that can’t show the similar video resolution(s) as the Number one Display connected to Output #1 might fail to turn a picture. Secondary displays follow the Number one by sharing the resolution and capability information (EDID) obtained from the Number one Display.
